One month ago, I came to the United States by myself carrying bags, with the expectations and dreams three years ago in my mind. I only hope that I can learn something in this month. Now I am surrounded by the packed luggage, with a great many photos and videos in my album and the diaries and feelings in my computer. Then, I am aware that I will go back to China.
In fact, I know I am very timid, while I have never been away from home alone. I don’t know how to do housework, nor do I have any experience in voluntary work. But I applied for the program without hesitation several months ago. The most important reason may be because I took part in the Model United Nations Program organized by the UNESCO Center for Peace, which enabled me to have a new understanding of the United States and to gradually come up with the idea of studying abroad in the future.
All in all, I have learnt a lot during the trip to the United States, which is bound to exert a profound impact on my future plan of studying abroad. I just hope that I can live up to my original intention, and continue to seek for more opportunities to do voluntary work or practice in the future, have less timidity, do something meaningful, and choose more what I like, help others more and develop myself better.
