I spent my 21stbirthday in the United States. Thanks to the jet lag, I had a 39-hour birthday this year. It is an unusual birthday. The age of 21 is not only the starting of an adult here, but my wisdom teeth have grown after the birthday. It seems to tell me that I have become mature in mind and body. I began to take care of myself and learn to assume responsibility for myself. My Polish roommate heard that it was my birthday and hosted a party for me. I felt that foreigners were so friendly. In addition, several friends I made after coming to the United States celebrated my birthday together. Even though I am thousands of miles away from my family members, I always feel somewhat warm in my mind.
I learnt to be grateful to others. I will express my gratitude to my parents, who support and love me most selflessly in the world. The best thing that happened to me in my life is that they are my parents. They are my roots and the source of all my strength. From their instructions and care, I have believed in myself, respected and loved myself. They have done everything for me that I thought of and that I didn't think of. I am much indebted to them for protecting me for 21 years. Now I have grown up, learning to fly by myself. But they are always the harbor where I want to stay when getting tired of flying. I love my parents so much.
