The four weeks seem to slip away but have benefited me a lot. It was the first time that I went abroad, changing the previous understanding of foreign countries from characters to vivid pictures.
Missouri, where I live, is located in the central part of the United States. It is less prosperous than the East and West, but there is a unique flavor of the American plains.
In my host family lives a mother living alone, about 50 years old. She has served in the army for many years. Her children have already worked independently in other cities, but she is still busy with her own career. When chatting with her, I asked her when she planned to retire, and she answered that she would work until she could no longer do. She was reluctant to live on the government pension for the rest of her life. She is an independent American woman with unswerving determination and a great sense of responsibility, while she is also a Christian.
This trip to the United States has broadened my horizons to a great extent, enabling me to experience a completely different way of life and enhance my understanding of different things.
